Rocking Chair

Houghton’s Rocking Chair is a sensitive design, focusing primarily upon its level of functionality, comfort and durability, which are aspects of the design he believes to be of the highest priority. The low back rocker is influenced by the traditional furniture of the 18th century, however Stuart has applied 20th century theories of ergonomics to his piece, resulting in a modern adaptation of a classic design. The rocker features a hand-shaped seat and is protected with a coat of Chinese wood oil.
