Dan Magnus

Log Drums Percussion began in 1988 when Dan Magnus and Marcus Tatton collaborated to build an experimental wooden hand drum, while training at the Centre for Furniture Design in Hobart. Dan and Marcus produce a variety of traditional and customised percussion instruments, which are sought by contemporary and classical musicians throughout Australia and overseas. While the demand for quality customised percussion instruments is rising annually, Log Drums Percussion intends to continue as a small scale enterprise in order to maintain contact with individual musician’s needs. Aside from the Log Drums partnership Dan and Marcus work individually as designer / makers for public commissions, exhibitions and private collections.
