Axis Design was owned and operated by Ian Hewitt and his wife Julia. They operated the business between1988 and 2012, following two years working with furniture designer / maker Alan Livermore of Kali Products. Victorian born, Ian, now a declared permanent resident of Tasmania, is committed to the intelligent and proper use of Australia’s special timbers. His small, functional craft ware is his vibrant expression of that commitment. Since 2012 Ian has made timber veneer light shades for his company Axiom Lighting.
