The Duo Chaise Lounge is composed of two elements: the fluid line of the plywood and the geometric mass of the layered foam. These elements are very different, yet they complement each other and ultimately converge to form a single, unified identity, just like the coastline.
Ross was a founding director of the Designer Makers Cooperative in Hobart, has worked at the Centre for Furniture Design and is a past board member of the Tasmanian Design & Development Company. He was co-curator of the exhibition Splitting Heads at the inaugural Hobart Design Triennial in 1991. Ross has travelled extensively, including a lecture tour of the east coast of the United States of America and a residency at the Cite International Des Arts, Paris in the early 1990s. He has worked as a self-employed furniture designer / maker since the mid 1980’s.
